The land where the sun breaks through the mist
PLACE OF THE SUN
Founded in 1859, Temecula is one of the most historic communities in Southern California. The name comes from the Luiseno Indian word "Temecunga" meaning "place of sun". The Spanish interpreted and spelled the word as Temecula, translated to mean "Where the sun breaks through the mist".
Hope's Ranch, located in the heart of Temecula wine country, is the ideal getaway for a romantic weekend for two or for larger gatherings, retreats or special occasions. In addition to the main Ranch house, where the owners live, the property consists of two separate and unique homes. The two homes can also be reserved together as a single booking for a gathering of up to 10 people. The beauty of Hope's Ranch, unlike other Temecula vacation rentals that require you to rent the entire property, is that we offer flexible booking configurations and pricing to match. You only pay for the space you need. And regardless of whether you book one room or the whole house, you will have the entire home to yourself. Each home is elegantly furnished with all the creature comforts and the kitchens are fully equipped and stocked with basic provisions including tea and coffee facilities. Both homes have private porches leading out to private courtyards offering magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and valley.
TO SEE OR NOT TO SEE
A stay at Hope's Ranch Retreat can be as busy or as chilled as you want it to be. There is much to see and do in and around Temecula. From exploring historic Old Town, or taking a dawn hot air balloon ride or a horse ride through the vineyards to visiting one of the more than 40 wineries on our doorstep, you may have a hard time fitting it all in. But once you arrive at Hope's Ranch and experience the beauty and tranquility of the property, there is the strong possibility you may not want to leave again.
While each home is secluded enough to ensure your privacy during your stay, if you choose to explore the ranch - which you are welcome to do - you will be sure to see us going about our daily chores. You may also see our three rescue dogs, Churchill, Lily and Mumm and our two rescue cats Tippy and Marley, roaming about. The dogs and cats have free range of the property during the day and are very friendly. We are involved in community based animal rescue through Hope's Ranch Rescue. We currently have four goats and four pot belly pigs living with us. The animals are fed twice a day. If you are interested in visiting the animals during feeding times, let us know. The goats love to meet new people. Unattended access to the animals is not permitted.
This is the country and we share the property with many species of wildlife. Most of our wildlife is harmless such as the squirrels, rabbits, possums, kangaroo mice, lizards, frogs, toads and some snakes like the rosy boas, king snakes and gopher snakes. We also have an amazing variety of birds from the tiniest humming birds to the majestic red hawk to the comical road runner. But where there are road runners there are coyotes..and the occasional bobcats...and mountain lions and rattlesnakes! We live by a "pet safe, predator friendly" code. We do not disturb, threaten or harm any of the creatures we may encounter on the property and we ask you to do the same.
CHILDREN AND PETS
Because of the unique nature of the property, we cannot accommodate pets or children under the age of 12.
WHERE THERE'S SMOKE THERE'S FIRE
This is an area of extreme fire danger, especially during the hotter months from July-October. During this time no open or wood fires are permitted. We also have a strict no smoking policy in the houses and on the property.
